Atomoxetine

Mechanism of action:
Atomoxetine is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It selectively inhibits the norepinephrine transporter on presynaptic nerve terminals, preventing norepinephrine reuptake and increasing its concentration in the synaptic cleft. This enhances norepinephrine-mediated regulation of neural circuits in the prefrontal cortex that are involved in attention and impulse control.
