Golimumab


Mechanism of action:

Golimumab is a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Golimumab binds to both soluble and membrane-bound TNF-α, preventing TNF-α from binding to its cell surface receptors, TNFR1 and TNFR2. This suppresses downstream TNF-α-mediated inflammatory signaling and reduces the induced expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1 and IL-6, as well as chemokines and adhesion molecules.
