Orciprenaline/Metaproterenol

Mechanism of action:

Orciprenaline is a bronchodilator and a selective beta2-adrenergic receptor agonist. Orciprenaline activates beta2-adrenergic receptors on airway smooth muscle. Through coupling with Gs proteins, it activates adenylyl cyclase, increases cAMP levels, lowers cytoplasmic calcium concentration, and causes bronchial smooth muscle relaxation.
