Quinupristin
Mechanism of action:
Quinupristin is a streptogramin B antibiotic. Quinupristin specifically binds to the peptide elongation region of the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit, blocks transpeptidation during peptide chain elongation, inhibits protein elongation and the release of incomplete peptide chains, and thereby suppresses bacterial growth.
