Aflibercept

Mechanism of action:

Aflibercept is a recombinant fusion protein that can bind multiple angiogenesis-related factors, including VEGF-A, VEGF-B, and placental growth factor (PlGF). By preventing these ligands from binding to VEGF receptors (VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2) on the surface of endothelial cells, aflibercept inhibits neovascular formation and vascular leakage.
