Aliskiren

Mechanism of action:

Aliskiren binds to the active site of renin and prevents it from converting angiotensinogen into angiotensin I. Because the production of angiotensin I is reduced, the subsequent formation of angiotensin II also decreases, resulting in lower blood pressure and reduced RAAS-mediated vasoconstriction and aldosterone signaling.
