Ampicillin

Mechanism of action:

Ampicillin binds to bacterial penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), inhibits transpeptidase activity, and blocks cross-linking between peptidoglycan chains. This results in an incomplete cell wall structure, causing the bacteria to swell, rupture, and die under osmotic pressure.
