Carbamazepine

Mechanism of action:
Carbamazepine is a dibenzazepine derivative. Carbamazepine binds to voltage-gated Na+ channels on neuronal membranes, stabilizes their inactivated state, and prevents excessive repetitive opening and the generation of high-frequency action potentials.
