Cetirizine

Mechanism of action:

Cetirizine is a second-generation H₁ receptor antagonist. Cetirizine binds to H₁ receptors in peripheral tissues, stabilizing them in an inactive state and blocking the action of histamine. This suppresses vasodilation and plasma leakage, and reduces neurogenic itching and allergic responses.
