Cinoxacin

Mechanism of action:

Cinoxacin is a first-generation quinolone antibiotic. Cinoxacin binds to the DNA gyrase-DNA complex and prevents the re-ligation of cleaved DNA generated by DNA gyrase. This leads to the accumulation of double-stranded DNA breaks, cessation of DNA replication and transcription, and ultimately bacterial death.
