Demeclocycline

Mechanism of action:

Demeclocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic that reversibly binds to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, preventing aminoacyl-tRNA from binding to the mRNA-ribosome complex. This blocks peptide chain elongation and inhibits protein synthesis.
