Desvenlafaxine

Mechanism of action:
Desvenlafaxine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It inhibits the activity of the serotonin transporter, preventing serotonin from being reabsorbed from the synaptic cleft and thereby enhancing serotonergic signaling, which influences central nervous system pathways involved in mood, anxiety responses, and sleep regulation. It also inhibits the norepinephrine transporter, similarly blocking norepinephrine reuptake and modulating neural signaling related to motivation, attention, and alertness.
