Didanosine

Mechanism of action:

Didanosine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor and a deoxyinosine derivative. Within cells, it is metabolized into dideoxyadenosine triphosphate (ddATP), which competes with dATP for incorporation by HIV reverse transcriptase. However, because didanosine lacks a 3'-OH group, viral reverse transcription is terminated.
