Dobutamine


Mechanism of action:

Dobutamine is a catecholamine derivative. It primarily activates β1-adrenergic receptors on cardiac muscle cells, stimulating Gs proteins, which then increase adenylate cyclase activity and raise cAMP levels. This promotes the entry of calcium ions into the cytoplasm, thereby increasing myocardial contractility and cardiac output.
