Eprosartan

Mechanism of action:
Eprosartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker. When angiotensin II binds to the AT₁ receptor, it causes strong contraction of vascular smooth muscle. Eprosartan antagonizes the AT₁ receptor, leading to relaxation of peripheral blood vessels, reduced peripheral resistance, and decreased hemodynamic load caused by vasoconstrictive signaling.
