Flunisolide

Mechanism of action:
Flunisolide is an inhaled corticosteroid. After inhalation into the respiratory tract, flunisolide enters cells and binds to the glucocorticoid receptor. The drug-receptor complex then translocates into the nucleus, where it increases the expression of anti-inflammatory genes such as annexin A1 and suppresses inflammatory transcription factors such as NF-κB and AP-1.
