Flutamide

Mechanism of action:

Flutamide is an anilide derivative. Flutamide and its major active metabolite, hydroxyflutamide, bind to the androgen receptor and prevent testosterone and dihydrotestosterone from binding to the receptor. This reduces the expression of genes associated with growth and survival in prostate cancer cells.
