Iprindole
Mechanism of action:
Iprindole is a tricyclic antidepressant and an indole-based tricyclic compound. Its mechanism of action remains unclear, but it is thought to primarily modulate serotonergic neurotransmission in the central nervous system by affecting serotonin receptor-related signaling and thereby influencing mood-related neural functions. Unlike other tricyclic antidepressants, iprindole has only weak inhibitory effects on the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) and norepinephrine.
