Ixabepilone

Mechanism of action:
Ixabepilone is an epothilone microtubule inhibitor. It binds to β-tubulin in microtubules and excessively stabilizes microtubules, preventing their normal depolymerization and thereby blocking the completion of mitosis. Once microtubule dynamics are disrupted, the cell cycle is arrested in the G₂/M phase, eventually triggering apoptosis.
