Losartan

Mechanism of action:
Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker. When angiotensin II binds to the AT1 receptor, it causes strong contraction of vascular smooth muscle. Losartan antagonizes the AT1 receptor, thereby relaxing peripheral blood vessels, reducing peripheral resistance, and lowering blood pressure.
