Loteprednol

Mechanism of action:

Loteprednol is a corticosteroid. After entering the cell, loteprednol binds to glucocorticoid receptors in the cytoplasm, forming a drug-receptor complex that then enters the nucleus. This increases the expression of anti-inflammatory genes such as annexin A1, while suppressing the transcription of inflammatory genes mediated by inflammatory transcription factors such as NF-κB and AP-1.
