Mifamurtide

Mechanism of action:

Mifamurtide is a lipidated derivative of a muramyl tripeptide analog. Mifamurtide is taken up by phagocytic cells, such as macrophages, and binds to the NOD2 (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain 2) receptor. This subsequently activates immune-related regulatory pathways such as NF-κB and AP-1, enhancing the activity of macrophages and neutrophils.
