Milnacipran

Mechanism of action:
Milnacipran is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Milnacipran inhibits the norepinephrine transporter and the serotonin transporter, preventing the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin. As a result, the concentrations of norepinephrine and serotonin in the synaptic cleft increase, prolonging neurotransmission. Milnacipran inhibits the norepinephrine transporter more strongly than the serotonin transporter.
