Modafinil
Mechanism of action:
Modafinil is a diphenylmethylsulfinylacetamide derivative. The exact mechanism of modafinil is not yet fully understood, but it is known to block the dopamine transporter, thereby increasing dopamine concentration in the synaptic cleft. It can also enhance norepinephrine activity in the locus coeruleus.
