Mupirocin

Mechanism of action:
Mupirocin is a pseudomonic acid derivative. Mupirocin highly selectively blocks bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, preventing isoleucine from being attached to tRNA. As a result, bacteria cannot properly elongate protein chains, leading to inhibition of protein synthesis and suppression of bacterial growth.
