Niclosamide

Mechanism of action:

Niclosamide is a salicylanilide derivative. Although its detailed mechanism is not fully understood, it is known to inhibit mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in parasites, preventing ATP production. This rapidly depletes cellular energy, greatly reducing parasite motility and ultimately causing death.
