Noscapine

Mechanism of action:
Noscapine is an opioid. The mechanism of action of noscapine has not been fully clarified, but it is known not to act through mu-, kappa-, or delta-opioid receptors. Noscapine suppresses the cough center in the medulla, thereby reducing the cough reflex.
