Oxacillin

Mechanism of action:

Oxacillin binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial cell membrane and blocks the transpeptidase reaction, preventing peptidoglycan chains from cross-linking. This causes the cell wall structure to lose its integrity, leading to bacterial lysis and death under osmotic pressure differences.
