Oxolamine citrate

Mechanism of action:
Oxolamine citrate is an antitussive agent. The molecular mechanism of oxolamine citrate has not been fully clarified, but it is known to act on the cough center in the medulla, raising the threshold of the cough reflex and reducing excessive responses to airway irritation. Oxolamine citrate does not act on opioid receptors.
