Pegvisomant

Mechanism of action:

Pegvisomant is a growth hormone receptor antagonist. Pegvisomant competitively binds to the growth hormone receptor, preventing receptor activation and blocking JAK-STAT signaling. Its main purpose is to suppress hepatic production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1).
