Phentolamine

Mechanism of action:

Phentolamine is a reversible, non-selective α-adrenergic blocker. It blocks α₁ receptors on vascular smooth muscle, causing peripheral vasodilation and lowering blood pressure. At neuronal α₂ receptors, it promotes norepinephrine release and can induce reflex tachycardia.
