Potassium chloride
Mechanism of action:
Potassium chloride is an electrolyte replacement agent and an inorganic potassium salt. It is used to increase potassium levels in the extracellular fluid and correct hypokalemia. Normal potassium levels help stabilize nerve conduction, maintain skeletal and smooth muscle contraction, and ensure proper generation of cardiac action potentials.
