Procaine

Mechanism of action:

Procaine is converted intracellularly into a positively charged form that binds within the pore of the voltage-gated Na+ channel, inhibits sodium influx, and prevents the normal phase 0 depolarization of the action potential, so nerve impulses cannot be generated or propagated forward.
