Ramucirumab
Mechanism of action:
Ramucirumab is a humanized anti-VEGFR-2 IgG1 monoclonal antibody. Ramucirumab directly binds to vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2) on the surface of vascular endothelial cells and prevents its interaction with the ligands VEGF-A, VEGF-C, and VEGF-D. Once blocked, the downstream signaling pathways of VEGFR-2, including PI3K/AKT, MAPK/ERK, and FAK/Src, can no longer be activated, thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis.
