Roxithromycin

Mechanism of action:

Roxithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic. It acts on the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit and binds to the region of 23S rRNA near the peptide exit tunnel, thereby blocking translocation and peptide chain elongation. As a result, bacterial protein synthesis cannot proceed, leading to growth arrest.
