Succimer

Mechanism of action:
Succimer is a heavy metal chelating agent (heavy metal chelating agent), chemically known as dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA). The succimer molecule contains two sulfhydryl groups (-SH), which can form stable cyclic chelation structures with metal ions such as lead (Pb2+), mercury (Hg2+), and arsenic (As3+), thereby reducing the damage these metal ions cause to the nervous system, hematopoietic system, and kidneys.
