Tacrine

Mechanism of action:
Tacrine is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and a tetrahydroaminoacridine derivative. Tacrine reversibly inhibits acetylcholinesterase, thereby slowing the breakdown of acetylcholine in the synaptic cleft and enhancing cholinergic neurotransmission.
