Tegaserod

Mechanism of action:

Tegaserod is a selective 5-HT4 receptor partial agonist. It acts on 5-HT4 receptors in enteric parasympathetic nerves and the enteric plexus, increasing the release of acetylcholine, promoting intestinal smooth muscle contraction, and accelerating intestinal motility and transit time.
