Terazosin

Mechanism of action:

Terazosin is an α₁-adrenergic antagonist and a quinazoline derivative. Terazosin antagonizes α₁-adrenergic receptors on the smooth muscle of the prostate, bladder neck, and peripheral blood vessels, which are Gq/11 protein-coupled receptors, thereby inhibiting norepinephrine-induced contraction.
