Terbutaline

Mechanism of action:
Terbutaline is a selective β₂-adrenergic agonist. Terbutaline activates β₂ receptors on bronchial or uterine smooth muscle, leading to Gs protein-coupled activation of adenylate cyclase, increased cAMP levels, subsequent activation of protein kinase A, and ultimately relaxation of bronchial or uterine smooth muscle.
