Tigecycline

Mechanism of action:

Tigecycline is a tetracycline antibiotic. Tigecycline reversibly binds to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome and blocks the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex, preventing new amino acids from being added to the peptide chain and thereby inhibiting protein synthesis.
