Tipranavir
Mechanism of action:
Tipranavir is an HIV-1 protease inhibitor. Tipranavir binds with high affinity to the active site of HIV-1 protease and prevents the enzyme from cleaving the Gag-Pol polyprotein precursor into functional proteins. As a result, newly produced viral particles remain immature and noninfectious.
