Ulipristal acetate

Mechanism of action:
Ulipristal acetate is a selective progesterone receptor modulator and a synthetic steroid. It acts on the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis to suppress or delay the luteinizing hormone surge, thereby inhibiting ovulation. Ulipristal acetate also alters the endometrial response to progesterone, resulting in reduced endometrial maturation and decreased suitability for embryo implantation.
