Urofollitropin

Urofollitropin is a human urinary-derived follicle-stimulating hormone. After binding to follicle-stimulating hormone receptors in the ovary or testis, it activates the Gs protein, stimulates adenylyl cyclase, raises intracellular cAMP concentration, and activates protein kinase A. This in turn regulates the transcription of multiple genes related to reproductive cell development, promoting cellular differentiation and functional maturation.
