Venlafaxine

Mechanism of action:
Venlafaxine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Venlafaxine selectively inhibits the serotonin transporter and norepinephrine transporter on presynaptic neurons, preventing the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine from the synaptic cleft and thereby enhancing the actions of both neurotransmitters in the central nervous system.
