Verapamil

Mechanism of action:
Verapamil is a calcium channel blocker and a phenylalkylamine derivative. Verapamil inhibits L-type calcium channels in the myocardium and cardiac conduction system, lowering cytosolic calcium levels, reducing myocardial contractility, suppressing atrioventricular nodal conduction, and decreasing myocardial oxygen demand.
