Gemifloxacin

Mechanism of action:
Gemifloxacin 是一種氟喹諾酮類抗生素(fluoroquinolone antibiotic),屬於第四代喹諾酮衍生物。Gemifloxacin 的抗菌能力作用於細菌的 DNA 旋轉酶(DNA gyrase,細菌的拓撲異構酶 II,topoisomerase II),DNA 旋轉酶負責解除細菌 DNA 複製過程中產生的超螺旋結構,當 gemifloxacin 結合於 DNA-酵素複合體後,會阻止 DNA 斷裂後的重新接合,使 DNA 複製無法繼續進行。此外,gemifloxacin 也會抑制細菌的拓樸異構酶 IV(topoisomerase IV),此酵素在細菌分裂時負責分離子代的 DNA,受到抑制後,細菌無法順利完成細胞分裂。
