Mechanism of action:
Maprotiline 是一種四環胺類抗憂鬱藥（tetracyclic antidepressant）。Maprotiline 主要抑制正腎上腺素轉運蛋白（norepinephrine transporter），使突觸間隙中正腎上腺素濃度上升，增加正腎上腺素介導的中樞神經訊號傳遞。相較之下，maprotiline 對血清素轉運蛋白（serotonin transporter）的抑制作用非常弱。
