Polymyxin B

多黏菌素B

Mechanism of action:

Polymyxin B 是一種多肽類抗生素（polypeptide antibiotic）。因為 polymyxin B 為陽離子環狀多肽，可與革蘭陰性菌外膜上帶負電的脂多醣（lipopolysaccharide，LPS）的脂質 A（lipid A）結合。這種結合會取代穩定脂多醣結構的二價陽離子（Mg²⁺、Ca²⁺），導致外膜結構鬆動，最後使細菌裂解死亡。
