Demeclocycline 是一種四環素類抗生素（tetracycline antibiotic），能可逆性地結合於細菌核糖體 30S 亞基，阻止胺醯-tRNA（aminoacyl-tRNA）與 mRNA-核糖體複合體結合。這導致肽鏈延長受阻，抑制蛋白質合成。
